Stuff I'm Good At

  • Web Consultancy

22 years in the Web Industry means I have a strong sense of what works on the Net. That together with a MBA gives me an understanding of all aspects of business. Netinsites have helped 100s of customers by building Web applications, guiding their marketing and their building processes where necessary. My Web development background means I have a particular interest in science and technology.

  • Project Management

My work experience has always been about projects: From road construction, manufacturing projects, design engineering to Web developments. I have also been involved in a large number of community-related projects and events including starting and directing a Fun Run for three years (and counting).

  • Community Engagement

We all live in a community so why not make it the best it can be? It’s only by putting your name forward and getting involved that things will change and be improved – if I won’t then who will? Currently I am a Rotary Board member and have been a Rotary President for two clubs for a total of six years.

  • PR/Marketing

I have written articles for a number of publications since 1999 and am currently writing for NZ Business magazine and a regular editorial for the Pohutukawa Coast Times newspaper. I have a good working knowledge of social media, search engines and other Internet-based marketing. I also write press releases, design posters, flyers and other marketing material for the events I manage or am involved in.

  • Special Interest

I have always been interested in fitness and health and since 2011 have become a trail runner, progressing to competing in events up to ultramarathon length. I continue to learn, and my ‘exercise evangelism’ has led to interests in community health and biological anthropology.
